“Home Sweet Home” is exactly how we felt when we arrived at Hotel Suite Home in Prague, Czech Republic. The hotel name’s play on words was more than fitting as we were greeted with complimentary bottles of Prosecco and water, a bag of chocolates, and a basket of fruit in a spacious two bedroom apartment-style hotel with a spiral staircase leading up to a private rooftop balcony. We were amazed by the level of effort and detail put into making us feel at home while we were over 7,000 miles away from home. Located a short 15 minute walk from the main train station and within steps of restaurants, bars, and convenience stores, Hotel Suite Home is without a doubt the best place to stay in Prague.
Large Apartment-Style Suites
Our top floor apartment with a view of the Prague Castle had more space than we knew what to do with. With two bedrooms, two bathrooms, two living rooms, a kitchen, dining room, and private rooftop terrace that came fully equipped with outdoor furniture, we could have easily spent days sitting inside our apartment at Hotel Suite Home and enjoying the views of the city from the roof. As if we didn’t already have a hard enough time getting ourselves to go out and explore, there was also a beer spa connected to the hotel (more on that later), which gave us plenty to do without ever leaving the premises.
The first bedroom in our suite came with a king bed, and the second bedroom came with two twin beds. Both were equipped with dressers, mirrors, artwork, and luxurious bathrobes and slippers for each guest. From the first bedroom, we had a full view of the Prague Castle and the rest of the city. We found this to be a great spot to watch the sunset as well. The spaciousness of the room and the homey design of the furniture made us feel like we were sleeping in our own beds at home rather than in a hotel.
Aside from the bedroom, we particularly appreciated having two full bathrooms, as we each have our own bathroom at home. Each bathroom came equipped with a heated towel rack, plenty of towels, a hair dryer, and individually packaged shampoo/shower gel, body lotion, and hand soap. One small detail I always mention enjoying during my hotel stays is having hair conditioner, and that’s one thing I would’ve enjoyed having here as well.
Free Breakfast Buffet and Other Dining Options
My favorite meal of the day is breakfast, and Hotel Suite Home did not disappoint. At Hotel Suite Home, all guests are invited to a free breakfast buffet, which is a bit of a misnomer since the breakfast includes more than just a buffet. The buffet portion included a variety of breads, cold cuts, cheeses, yogurt, cereal, fruit, and a hot rotating option that included foods like grilled vegetables and sausage. On top of all of that, we were invited to order a hot breakfast, such as scrambled eggs, omelet, or waffles. There was also a coffee machine where you can make yourself unlimited espressos, lattes, cappuccinos, and a number of other kinds of coffee-based drinks. We filled up on the breakfast at Hotel Suite Home both mornings we were in Prague and were still full by lunchtime.
While Hotel Suite Home does not provide lunch or dinner for its guests, it does offer a couple of great options in the building for those who don’t feel like venturing out too far. One restaurant that was recommended to us by the hotel staff, and that we can now highly recommend as well after having dinner there, is U Pravdu. If you are looking for traditional Czech cuisine that is delicious and affordable, this is your spot. Just make sure you go on a very empty stomach because their dishes are huge. U Pravdu is technically located inside the same building as Hotel Suite Home, but you’ll need to walk outside and access the restaurant from the street.
Another dining option you might want to consider is to buy groceries from the local grocery store or farmer’s market and cook your own meals at the hotel. Since each suite comes with a fully stocked kitchen, including pots, pans, dishes, and silverware, you can easily cook a delicious, healthy, and affordable meal in the comfort of your own home-away-from-home. There is a convenience store located across the street from Hotel Suite Home and many grocery stores located within walking distance of the hotel, just a few more reasons why Hotel Suite Home is the best place to stay in Prague.
Original Beer Spa Prague
I’m not sure when I became such a big spa person (read about our experience at the best hotel spa here), but I’m pretty sure that even if I hated the spa, I would still enjoy a beer spa. One unique feature of Hotel Suite Home is that there is a beer spa inside the hotel called the Original Beer Spa Prague. We booked our appointment at the beer spa for the morning of our last day in Prague, and I can’t think of a better memory to leave Prague with than a bath and brew in the best beer spa in Prague.
Our spa appointment was the first one of the day, and the staff were still setting up our spa room for us when we arrived. The staff at the front desk immediately invited us to pour ourselves a beer from the tap in the lobby while we waited to begin our spa experience, and we happily obliged. Even though it was only 10:00AM in Prague, it was five o’clock somewhere around the world!
A few minutes later, Anna greeted us in the lobby with a big plate of homemade beer bread and led us downstairs to our spa room. She showed us the tubs, straw bed, bathrobes, slippers, and bathroom and proceeded to explain the process of making the “beer” that we would bathe in.
To our surprise (and relief that so much beer wasn’t being wasted), our beer spa treatment did not actually take place in a big tub of beer but rather in a tub of hot water mixed with hops and brewer’s yeast. Anna explained the benefits of hops and brewer’s yeast on the skin to us as she poured the elements into the tub and started mixing. The entire process took about five minutes, after which she left us to enjoy the jacuzzi beer bath and straw bed in private. There were taps of light and dark Krušovice beer available for our unlimited consumption, as well as four large slices of very tasty homemade beer bread, which I would have eaten more of had I not just stuffed myself at the breakfast buffet.
While I was a bit skeptical at first that hops and brewer’s yeast would have any positive effects on the skin, I was quickly proven wrong. After bathing in the beer spa, my skin felt softer than ever. For maximum results, try to refrain from showering with soap for at least a few hours after your spa experience. Don’t worry, as long as you rinse off the hop residue with water after your bath, your body won’t smell like hops or beer as you walk around town the rest of the day.
There are two types of beer spa experiences you can book at the Original Beer Spa Prague: with a hop sauna or without. Since we were a bit crunched for time that morning, we booked the beer spa without the sauna. Next time we return to Prague, we will definitely be making a beeline for the hop sauna.
Finally, here are some of our tips for maximum enjoyment of the beer spa:
- Book your visit at least one to two weeks in advance. During peak season, you’ll want to book even farther in advance, as the Original Beer Spa fills up fast.
- Book a longer stay if you can. We booked a one hour spa treatment, which was not nearly long enough. I could’ve easily stayed there for an entire day.
- Bring a swimsuit, but leave everything else at home. There is no need to bring a large bag with you, as your towels, bathrobes, and slippers will all be provided for you when you arrive.
- Refrain from showering with soap for at least a few hours after your treatment.
Thanks to Hotel Suite Home and the Original Beer Spa Prague, we left Prague with nothing but great memories. Our only regret was that we did not have more time to spend in Prague, but now that we know we have a home-away-from-home in Prague, we will no doubt be back soon. Hotel Suite Home is truly the best place to stay in Prague, and the beer spa is an experience that can’t be missed.

A big thank you to Hotel Suite Home and the Original Beer Spa for making our visit possible. As always, all opinions are 100% our own.
Damn. I just came back from my last trip to Prague and found this post. Should have known this before I went. Visiting a beer spa sounds really cool, I’ll do that the next time!
This place looks great. I’ve been looking for ideas of places to stay in Prague. And a beer spa sounds fab! Did you happen to find any chocolate spa treatments anywhere?
I didn’t, but I also didn’t look. We focused our trip pretty heavily on beer, since we’re big beer people and that’s what the Czech Republic is known for. It’s totally possible that Prague would have different kinds of spas like chocolate spas though!
The Hotel Suite Home was the perfect place to stay in Prague – those views! But I really clicked to find out more about the Beer Spa! I’m pinning this and saving it for our Prague trip. What a unique way to treat yourself. I’ll make sure we leave enough time. It’s always 5 o’clock somewhere! Cheers!
Cheers, Annick! You’ll love the beer spa!
Wow this is luxury redefined. I really wish I was in your place soaking in the beauty and comfort. Definitely a great catch
This is the first time I’ve ever come across a beer spa, how original! I’m a spa girl, and though I love beer, I’d probably exchange with a glass of wine if I could. This sounds like a great choice for staying in Prague. Plus they give you prosecco and chocolates on arrival, yes please!
Oh Hotel Suite Home looks like my kind of place. I love having the space of an apartment with the kitchen and living space, not to mention the views. But I also live amenities like a great breakfast included and I also love the idea of the beer spa (now I know it’s not actually in beer!)
I’m with you 100%, Kavita. You really can find everything you could possibly need at Hotel Suite Home!
I want to go there! You are tempting me too much for the beer spa! Please no more 😛
Haha I know, right? One hour in the beer spa was just enough time to give me a taste of the beer spa but not nearly enough time to satisfy me, so I’ll definitely be back.
wow this looks so beautiful and cozy. That beer spa sounds so cool. i would definitely love to try that . Thanks for sharing your knowledge
Thank you so much for this informative post!
